What a lovely interview. And I’ll definitely be checking out Mallorie’s book. The discussion regarding including (or excluding) ancestors with dark histories is something I need to delve into as I navigate my path. Every family (especially one like mine that is entangled in the bondage of religious intolerance) has skeletons and complicated characters.
The part about pets really got me as well. It’s funny because earlier today I was laying in bed before getting up and I had remembered a pet who had passed on over a decade ago. This big Alsatian/Doberman used to climb up in bed and we’d sleep back-to-back, skull-to-skull. The feeling of him there was always a comfort as he was very protective. Can’t remember why the memory surfaced, but it did and it brought me a bit of happiness to start my day. Sometimes, I have thought over the years that I have occasionally heard the unique rhythm of his collar and nails on the tile as he made his rounds through the house at night. It never occurred to me until this interview to reach out to him and possibly call on him as a protector in my magickal workings if he were so inclined.
Thanks again for all the work you guys do in providing us with amazing content and introducing us to great people.
Loved the episode! It made me search for Mallorie’s book and I can’t wait for it to arrive – hopefully it will reach me just before Halloween.
