Welcome to the Tri-State Cory! You are right smack in the middle of mythical country. Rural areas, small towns, Amish communities (loaded with all kinds of interesting stories and beliefs) and woods and hills too. And right up the road, big cities can be found (Philley, Balto., Wilmington). Those of us that are in lower east/central PA, upper central/east MD (like myself) and upper Del are surrounded by much of the same things so the stories you mentioned I found very intriguing as I love local legends and stories also.
Enjoy the leaves changing and the harvest. I think you will love this area as it can be very magical this time of year as the seasons shift.
