This spotify thing is a pita. Impossible to download to mp3 to throw on my portal player. I searched for the episodes on other platform and all new eps are not avail.
I don’t stream podcast (most stream sites spam the shit out you and eat data), I like mp3 to player, but guess we are out on this one now unless there is downloadable options. 😦
Yes, Spotify is the host now for our episodes due to the cost of hosting and the fact we’re winding the podcast down this year. Unfortunately if we wanted to host all of our episodes the way we have been, our costs would have tripled this year and since we’ve had a big fall-off in financial support it’s just not monetarily feasible for us to directly host our show anymore. I’m so sorry and I hope that you’ve been able to enjoy the episodes you were able to listen to up to this point.
Understand the cost factor. I was able to stream on my laptop while I work so still onboard. I do miss walking around with them on my player LOL.
Winding down, meaning cutting back episodes or podcast shutting down?
If it is a cost thing, have you thought about just putting them as vids on YouTube? I listen to a few others like that (am able to MP3 grab the audio and carry from those too), so curious.
Been a listener for looooong time and even have some of my submitted info included in the corn maiden/grain goddess blog post (wow, that was a few years ago now).
Hope you stay around in some shape or form 😦
Oh! We do actually have a handful of episodes on YouTube and we are working on getting most of our back catalog on there eventually! If you go to our Find Us page and click the YouTube button you’ll see our channel and we have around 25 episodes on there already with plans to eventually get all of them converted over.
And yes, winding down as in shutting down (mostly) the show by the end of 2025. We’ll still keep the Folk Magician’s Notebook going for at least another year and we may occasionally drop a new episode or two on the feed/website as we have time and interest but we won’t produce regular episodes anymore after December.
